The accomplished jazz vocalist Jennifer Madsen returns with a Big Band album, where a large cast surround her for the 11 timeless tracks.

The frisky mood of “Bésame Mucho” opens with Madsen’s expressive pipes alongside Mark Ivester’s agile drumming and David Halliday’s bright sax, and the title track follows with Brent Edstrom’s well timed keys amid rich horns that complement Madsen’s flawless singing.

Arriving in the middle, “There’s Gotta Be Something Better Than This” offers an animate moment via Clipper Anderson’s skilled bass and Sean Jones’ colorful trumpet, while “Misty” focuses on Edstrom’s keys in an intimate climate of sublime beauty.

Landing closer to the finish, “Comin’ Home Baby” benefits from Brian Woodbury’s well timed trombone alongside the powerful vocals and rhythm, and “The Look Of Love” exits with a romantic spirit that’s lush and spotlights Ryan Keberle’s trombone.

The classic repertoire is balanced with creative musicianship, meticulous Big Band prowess and, of course, Madsen’s stunning pipes for another top notch vocal jazz outing.
