This debut from Rosenthal brings a lot of diversity to an indie-pop template, where fans of New Order of The Cure will be intrigued.

The atmospheric and post-punk influenced “Heart” opens with much warmth, and “Afraid Of Stars” follows with a thicker presence, where crisp drumming and a distinct guitar tone suits the smooth voice.

Halfway through, the swirling climate of “A Dream” brings plenty of shoegaze ideas into the fold, while “Intermezzo” blends softness and intimacy for the quick minimalism.

Residing close to the end, “Void” moves gently and with a lush appeal that’s a bit psychedelic and even flirts with prog, and “The Home Stretch” exits with layered vocals and a hypnotic backdrop that’s a bit spacey, too.

For fans of post-punk from the ‘80s, this is a great first record that showcases lo-fi dreampop and cautious exploration that’s reflective and full of wonder.
