The Boise outfit AKA Belle bring their psyche folk- rocknroll/celestial bossa nova formula to an artistic and sonically engaging double album.
All Time Is Now starts with Jake Stiger’s lively drumming and Sam Merrick’s animated guitar that suits Catherine Merrick and Christine Nygard’s expressive pipes across “Fittin’ In (Garage Mix)”, and “The Envy Of Venus” follows with a warm spirit via Anthony Mulparry’s frisky percussion and the soulful singing.
In the middle, Now Is All You Have showcases the emotive singing of “Sunlight (Is Like Kissing For The First Time)” which complements the heartfelt delivery, while “Come All Ye Minstrels” isn’t short on melodies amid the dynamic and layered rock delivery.
The Time For Love Is Always Now exits, and places Johnny Townsend on drums for the colorful and textured “New Highs In Leadership”, and “Call From The Cosmos” exits with Gina Gregerson’s backing vocals adding much to the psychedelic stabs and stylish mood.
A record that is all over the place in the best ways, expect psychedelic blues, cultured stabs, ‘60s teen pop, ‘70s punk rock attitude and diverse instrumentation including vibraphone and theremin to keep you entertained from beginning to end.
