Listen to American Epitaph

It’s been awhile since Adam Brodsky released an album, but he makes the wait worth it with these 13 diverse tracks he describes ‘are for us to sing together while we throw sand in the gears of the fascist regime.’

“Achy Breaky America” opens with flowing harmonica and punchy drumming that suits the animated singing that carries some folk-punk flavor, and “Nazis In The White House” follows with a protest song fueled by acoustic guitar and wordplay that doesn’t pull any punches.

Further along, “Don’t Break Bread” allows for insightful singing and a melodic backdrop that’s minimal and impactful, while “Daddy Issues” is a fuller moment of thumping drums, driving guitar and well timed harmonica.

Moving along, “Birthday Cake” spotlights Brodsky’s distinct voice alongside acoustic guitar and rhythm, and “Window Pain” exits with 7+ minutes of vivid storytelling and soft guitar.

Brodsky has a background in punk and that’s clear across these anti-folk and country tinted tracks from a creative mind who’s paying close attention to the current state of affairs.
