The recording moniker of Robin Sedivy, as GrayBeat the renaissance man blends electronica, rock, jazz, hip-hop and African music into 12 unclassifiable tunes.
The spacey and club friendly buzzing of “Star Gram” follows with plenty of animated electronica, and “GalactiCruisin’” follows with a dense beat and flowing synth-rock that’s colorful and lively.
Further along, “Concrete Labyrinth” uses manipulated voices with both rock and hip-hop flavor, while “Paper Shoes” carries much melody via the meticulous instrumentation and warm singing.
Closer to the end, “Realms Of Passion” pairs wordless vocals and sci-fi stabs with much playfulness, and “Diamond Mic” exits with Hookdiggy’s vocals amid both jazz and hip-hop nods.
GrayBeat began as a jazz fusion drummer and his interest in software and technology brings a very creative angle to these remastered and live remixes that are infectious.
