The heartfelt “Angel Dream” opens with the emotive singing and intimate string interaction that emits a spiritual beauty, and “Denver” follows with playful fiddles and lively mandolins that suit the harmonic vocals.
Halfway through, the speedy “Castlerock Turnpike” benefits much from Kent Blanton’s swift upright bass, while “A Little Goes A Long Way” radiates tremendous warmth via the vocal harmonies and playful picking.
“Walk On John” arrives late and it’s a colorful and gospel fueled album highlight, and “Goodbye Little Darlin’” exits with the group singing and meticulous string dynamics illuminating all the hallmarks of bluegrass we could never tire of.
