The world music artist Seckou Keita is joind by many players for this lively and infectious listen that warrants plennty of dancing.
“Bienvenue” opens with vivid storytelling alongside the intricate guitar playing that emits much warmth, and “Home Sweet Home” follows with flowing vocal harmonies amid animated percussion and a charming dreaminess.
“Reflections” resides close to the middle and is full of sublime intimacy via the meticulous keys and poetic spoken word, while “Bé Té Sona” offers a quick, dynamic moment that benefits much from Chris Obam’s eloquent bass.
Closer to the end, “Nay Rafet” radiates much beauty even touches on hip-hop ideas with much detail, and “Kibaro” exits with Keita’s inimitable vocals that suit the harmonic gestures of universal beauty.
A really unique body of work that’s never short on rhythm, the Afro-pop, urban, hip-hop and spoken word bouts makes each track worthy of global celebration.
