A Norwegian one man band with a penchant for experimental ideas, Krizla handles 303, 808 and Arp 2600, flutes, mellotron and diverse alarums across these 8 atypical tracks.
“Høymole” starts the listen with plenty of spacy, buzzing fun that’s beat friendly, and “Tårnhode med skyer” follows strong attention to mood, where the dynamic interaction between the instruments is fascinating.
Moving into the middle, “En løfterik morgenBlomstergnom” is dance ready thanks to the playful beats and sci-fi stabs that emit a mesmerizing quality, while “Blomstergnom” uses synth creatively in a meticulous and warm fashion.
The final track, “Morgendugg på spindelvev”, doesn’t disappoint either, where the animated synth patterns draw us into a dreaminess that few others could replicate.
This is Alwanzatar’s 6th album, and it continues a prog, electronic and instrumental mix that will certainly appeal to those with an ear for The Orb, Amorphous Androgynous and Tangerine Dream.
Travels well with: Trojka- Strobemørke; Sunface- Cloud Castles
