Expectations are pretty high for this pairing, but these 2 stars deliver with a unique and irresistible pre-Americana album that truly defies category. Fulks, with his dozen plus albums and Lewis, who is the sister to Jerry Lee Lewis, has released albums in 4 decades and famously collaborated with Van Morrison, have plenty of stories to share in ways you'll want to hear again and again.
Together the pair find creative and fun ways to deliver comical country tunes, rollicking folk songs and old school rock'n'roll flavor with endless energy and a timeless spirit. Fulks reportedly penned most of the songs though it seems from the perspective of Lewis, and her sassy vocals and banging keys complement the guitar, banjo and supplemental vocals from Fulks. An aptly titled album, the reckless rockabilly and honky tonk twang are certainly top notch, but the less expected gypsy jazz and bare acoustic track are even better.
