Poison Moon, 2018

Houston's Mandy Kim Clinton has a knack for dreamy indie sounds on this debut EP, where lush atmosphere and bedroom pop ideas unfold in charming, irresistible ways. A brief listen that makes full use of her guitar skills, Clinton mixes beats, clapping, and plenty of '80s nods with strategic synth for effect. Though the first few songs are intimate and restrained with a touch of R&B influence, when we arrive at “Milk & Moon” we get a taste of warm, powerful indie-pop that could and should easily turn heads. Very impressive that Clinton wrote, recorded and produced everything here, too.
